:what:

bet all your money on the Heat tonight...why?

because no matter how much money you got on Lebron, the league has more than you riding on him.

The Heat are only allowed to lose to generate revenue & interest to make yall nikkas watch the game.

I ain't watching this mess. The Heat haven't loss 2 games back to back since I can't remember.

:aicmon: yall know better than this.

Stern didn't really cheat in the Mavs series or in this series so far, so idk. I could see Bron shooting 25 FTs but Stern may have a no finals cheating policy, after they've already gotten a lot of high rated games out of the Heat.

it does not go with the story arc breh.

Those series was BEFORE he got his ring. It gives him the illusion of 'earning his stripes'. The dude has a ring now, he's at the top of the hill. He and the Heat CANNOT lose this game/series because it will do too much damage to the brand that is created around him.

Do you really think anyone would respect this dude if he goes 1-3 in the Finals. :pachaha: Ratings would dry up quick because this dude has been championed at 'the best of the NBA' yet he can't win. :what: People still remember Jordan & Kobe's runs. There would be no debate...no narrative.

Right now Lebron is already 'assumed' to be as great everyone else except those 2 guys (as far as perimeter players goes). He's not battling with anyone in the league...he's chasing ghost of the past. And people are only watching to see if he measures up.

Heat win tonight. :manny:

I don't get why everyone assumes it's fixed for Lebron and then they mention Jordan and Kobe like Stern didn't do the same thing for them. That Lakers Kings series in 01 I think it was was the craziest thing I've ever seen.

I do think it's very possible that the NBA does everything in it's power to help Lebron win but if that's the case I'd say it's a safe bet they did it for many superstars that came before him.

***I don't think it was 01 the Lakers ran through the league that year maybe it was 03***

Stern don't give a shyt about bron legacy in comparison to mj

And what bron earns from endorsements don't mean shyt to stern either that's lebron hustle

The only thing the league cares about is ratings and its effect on they tv contracts.

They only care about the heat getting to the finals. Doritos, gilette, old spice, toyota, etc can't drop they brand new advertisements during a indy vs memphis finals. Those companies ain't paying abc espn
millions to show they ads vs that type of match up. They need teams they can sell

All they need is mia to get there. Its enough heat haters that want to see them lose. Add that with they bandwagon fan base and its a win win for the league either way

I do agree that they may do shyt to extend the series game 6 is inevitable

I think that was more about Shaq & LA, then Kobe...that series did make everyone go :ld:

Let's be honest, the league has not 'backed' Kobe since he caught that case. This is the only reason he has 1 MVP. They never wanted him to be the face of the league after that.

Jordan was so great he didn't need fixing. The only series that makes me go back and wonder how the Bulls won was the Pacers series. The Pacers really got at the Bulls in that series & to this day I still don't understand how they beat Miller & Rose. Them dudes was serving Mike them.

further more, why watch the game at all? why cheer for any team in the NBA?? how can someone so sure that the outcome is already determined for "lebron winning no matter what" have interest in any NBA game, you already know the result when the score is 0-0.

You're right it most likely was more about Shaq and LA as a market, and so were the 3 chips more due to Shaq than Kobe. I just brought Kobe up to make a point but the Shaq argument proves an entirely different and yet still just as relevant a point about the Kobe/Lebron debate.
