Do yall research job reviews before you respond for an interview?

Out here in my damn drawls
job environment dont matter?

I live in my own head and I don't bother getting caught up into the politics of the workplace. I don't have a dynamic personality to begin with, so I stay pretty even and nothing really bothers me and I don't bother anyone else

I don't work in a traditional setting anyways, so :manny:

Myself. fukk 12(1)!
I take online reviews with a grain of salt; people that are dissatisfied are more likely to voice their displeasure than someone that is content/happy with their situation. I see it all the time when conducting surveys.

I'd much rather talk to a current employee (that I know through a connect) than to give much credence to online reviews.

If all the reviews were negative, then I'd dig a little deeper, see if the company has had any formal complaints brought against it, etc. If you know people in the same industry as the business you're interested in, I'd hit them up too. Most of the time, those people will have inside dirt that isn't privy to the public.

Regardless of the route you take, it's always good to do some kind of research on the company you're interested in; you don't want to invest time into a place that you'll ultimately end up hating (or one that engages in shady dealings).
