I'm not completely lost when it comes to cooking, I can prepare very simple things, mostly breakfast foods (although my pancakes taste kind of
at times). I can make pasta dishes and grilled/baked chicken breast. Although that is some form of cooking, it's very simple to prepare and truthfully when I make it, it doesn't even have all that much taste to it kind of bland. The farthest and most complicated dish I can prepare is a lasagna
I just don't have that cooking touch it seems.
Growing up playing hockey I literally had almost all my meals prepared for me, I was definitely spoiled in that aspect. And I honestly never really cared to learn how. If I had to "cook" it was grilled cheese sandwiches or omelettes. Living on my own, I've had girlfriends who were great cooks took care of me or even chicks I was just smashing I'd get to cook for me too
. I've tried to cook different meals over the years but everything just comes out extremely bland with little to no taste or flavor, even when I follow recipes. Now I mostly just stick to those simple things I'm good at but I do want to become a better cook someday, those failed attempts just fukked up my soul
It's easier to get a chick to come over and cook something I'm gonna enjoy or I just make one of those basic dishes I'm comfortable with.
Do you consider yourself a good cook? What are some of the best dishes you can prepare? How did you learn how to cook?
