Pretty much.
Not having a car makes you a bum in the eyes of most women :francis:,
It's just how it goes.
Also, man I just want to drive late night bumping some slow RnB songs :takedat:.
Nothing makes you feel more free than driving.
You can go wherever you want, when you want and don't have to rely on public transport.

YES

It all depends where you live. I own 2 cars at the moment. If your location has a good metro system then there is no NEED to own a car but knowing me i'd still want one. I hate having to wait for trains or dealing with public transportation, period. You have no privacy whatsoever + you have to deal with the presence of strangers in your space.

I live up north and get around well without my car, which I left down south.

I spend the summers in the south and midwest and it's impossible to survive without one. I decided not to bring my car to the midwest with me this summer, and I regret it. I left it because I thought that I'd be willing to wake up and take my fiancé to work everyday, but I lied to myself. Therefore, I am typically stuck in the house all day until he gets off.

Living in NJ, you generally HAVE to own a car here if you really wanna get around doing shyt. The only exceptions are the towns by the Hudson River directly across Manhattan by the PATH and Light Rails where transportation is everywhere. But transportation here is expensive no matter what.

with so many MTA rail lines being built in LA
I'm driving less and not really feeling the need to own a car

If you live in a rural area I understand
you can pull off no whip in LA especially if you live somwhere in between DTLA and hollywood. your subway system isnt 24 hours though. also in LA uber is mad cheap. 12 mile ride was like $15 her in NYC thats like $30

I thought this was gonna be more about autonomous cars...which i believe is destined to be our future at least as far as car services where cars will ride around by themselves and you just order them up to take you to work or grocery store or anywhere in the country you need to go.

So at that point will i feel the need to own a car...probably yes only because we've grown up with the freedom of driving ourselves anywhere at anytime. I think future generations might not miss what they won't know about firsthand.

when i was a young lad, right before i got my first car, TLC's no scrubs hit too close to home, for me. parts of that song, i thought they were following me around and taking shots at me. i swore to never be that dude hangin' out the passenger side of my best friend's ride, tryin' to holla at females.

i say all of that, to say this........................yep.

I love my car but sometimes I hate it too

In my city, you can't really get around comfortably (fukk you sprawl) without a car and the public transit is pretty shyt for the second highest ridership in North America (after NYC) so you kind of need a car. It makes life easier in some ways but the costs can be a drag with high ass insurance and being stuck in some of the worst traffic in the world getting in and out of the city. I'd only get rid of my car if I moved to the downtown core and I could walk to my office :yeshrug:
