I'm an engineer. I read the news but I don't feel I'm getting anything from it.
Ohhh I thought you were blue collar. Man that's how I feel, but unless you're able to discuss it you feel that way.

Nah I'm blue collar. I use tools and all of that, open and close valves, physical work. Maintenance work on machines.

Just like @Raul said earlier, seems like the more we become intelligent or aware of things the more we find out how much we don't know. I'm more worried about what am I supposed to know.

If I'm going by my 3.5gpa, than yeah I'm pretty smart!!!

my nikka. 3.5 gpa right here as well. shyt is finna go down to 3.4 by the end of this term though. i haven't been very dilligent and i'm being killed by linear algebra. i'm also taking a computational theory course where the marking is very rigid.

for the record i don't think i'm very smart at all. i also don't believe that reading more corresponds to intelligence. i post concurrently on this forum and a university forum, and i can say unequivocally that on the whole, i encounter more intelligent, reasonable posters here than the other place.

yup...forget programming for a sec.

You will be surprised at the amount of people I have tried to teach the piano and have not even picked up the basics after many months.

I don't think people are dumb, I just think most people refuse to learn new things or do not want to challenge themselves.

I think I have a higher level of intelligence in some areas (emotional) than others (science). :manny:

I am an avid reader and regardless of how much I know, I will never know enough. And there will always be areas that I am completely ignorant in and unaware.

I am in a perpetual state of that of a student.

One of the flaws in intelligence measures is that they typically have a one-size-fits-all approach to intelligence, which really isn't the case. Another flaw is that they tend to test for knowledge (what you have learned) rather than intelligence (how well you process information), which places those who haven't been exposed to certain information at a disadvantage versus those who have.

That said, I'm pretty learned, but the wise man knows that he knows nothing (word to Socrates).
