Music is a artform, not restricted to no race. In the golden era's of Hip-Hop, the grammies were rarely mentioned when discussing Hip Hop music. The award show had little to no say towards the genre, no respect or anything was garnered from it. It was no where near as close to the recognition that a 5 mic status in the source's prime days would have given you

Simple question, do you have a problem with non-blacks doing Hip Hop and R & B?

if this country didnt have the racial history it does im sure things would be a little different

but the past 400 years can tend to have an effect on things

This is the problem in my POV, and it's our problem by our own doing, not theirs

It's not an issue of white artists doing black music. The issue is, we don't have our platforms, so now we have black artists seeking approval from white gate keepers, and white gate keepers applying their own interpretation and agenda to black music.

It should be the other way around really. Whites doing black music should be seeking the acceptance and approval of the black gatekeepers, but that doesn't exist, so :manny:

I don't mind what race wants to do hip hop or R&B just make sure you give us our props, that blacks are the founders/creators.

Don't do a rock music and just erase us from the history.

As long as they know that they are guests in the house of hip hop and act accordingly then I don't mind.

I have a problem when non blacks(especially cacs) are unjustifiably rewarded accolades and titles or promoted as the best while imitating our art forms

explain, examples
Explain what? Hip hop/rap is black culture.

Not much explanation is needed.

What people can come into hip hop rapping and making money and appreciating our art form and such and its all good but at the end of the day its black culture and they are guests in the culture aka house of hip hop/rap because of that.

As long as they acknowledge that then I have no issues with it.

post somethin more than a clown ass smilie if you got a problem with what i said

my point was the history of racial injustice in this country skews everything even our views of who can legitimately do certain types of music

and rightfully so

the gatekeeper aspect is reversed like the earlier post stated

the whites doin black music should be seekin approval of chuck d smokey robinson stevie wonder and rakim etc...
