Nope. I can decide on Thursday (or even Friday morning) that I’m taking Friday off. No one bats an eye unless it’s around a week or more.

Little stuff like this go a long way towards job satisfaction. Another big one is not having to be here exactly by a certain time. “I’ll get there when I get there” has a marked effect on lowering commuting stress.

Nah we are told to use best judgment when putting in PTO. This year I’m taking Thanksgiving week and half of December + first week of January off as is a lot of other people.

In my line of business our busy times are mid January through mid April. Summer and the end of the year aren’t as busy so it’s not an issue to take time off. Now if someone needed to take time off in the middle of February that would be a discussion with a few people lol.
