Do you pass or do you shoot in this situation because that’s the “mentality” these days 🧐🤔

2 point game, close to a 30 piece so you've been on.

Not sure if they're down 2 or up 2, but If you just need 2 to tie and think you can get past your man, or you're up 2 and can take some time to get your shot to extend the lead, I can see taking the shot.

Amen isn't far away, but was far enough that if he swung it immediately Monk had an easy bucket. That second delay would have given him enough time to recover to contest.

My immediate thought is to pass just looking at the play in real time, but circumstance might change my mind.

:mjcry:

I almost expected the clip to be a step back 3

Challenging your man one on one with the game on the line is a lost art.

Depends on a couple of things. Score, time left, is malik even a good 3 pointer shooter, he didnt attempt to cut to the basket. Can i get past my defender?

Doesnt seem homeboy even cares he was getting his shot off.

Hard to see without seeing the entire cut. We can't tell how far away the closest defender is. Making a cross cut pass like that is dangerous as hell and the Rockets defender could've been baiting the pass.

I’m really curious like breh was wide open

It seems like a easy play

I just don’t get it sometimes why not pass it

I've watched DeMar for the last 3 years, the funniest thing about these kind of plays/shots from him is that when he does this, he acts oblivious with his teammates afterwards. On some chill ass...

"My bad man, I didn't see you" type shyt

And keeps a cordial attitude. Whole time, he definitely saw that nikka over there and was like, "I'm not passing you shyt"

:childplease:

He used to do Coby like this... especially when it was a 2 for 1 situation and DeMar doesn't shoot the ball fast enough, he just always patted on his chest like, "my bad man, you right"

You have to know context. Did demar feel he had a mismatch? Was demar in rhythm? Was monk cold during that stretch? Do he even like Malik monk to be passing him the ball like that? It’s so many factors and variables you need to know

The Truth
It was a bad read but maybe he saw something else we didn’t see.

Plus there’s the clock (maybe DeRozan was trying to drain it), then there’s what you need, foul sutuation, etc.

An open 3 is a pass most players will make but it depends on the situation I guess

Objectively a terrible decision.

You pass up a wide open 3 to take a contested long jumper.
Just because he made it doesn't change the fact that it was the wrong move.
