Why/why not?

Also, if you do pay, what do you have a subscription for?

Just NY Times and I get it for $4/month. I'll resubscribe to The Athletic again at some point too and maybe The New Yorker.

WaPo, The Athletic, The Intercept and Citations Needed. The last two are just donations.

Above the fray.
I subscribe to Local paper and Black owned news sites.

Thanks to everyone that weighed in. I'm a Google News junkie, so I'm used to having 3-4 sources to choose from for every news article but I realize that reporting is not sustainable with me just taking. Seeing others paying for content reminded me of that.

I was going to subscribe to inkl since it is like Google News but with more paywall content, but it turns out that they kinda curate the articles that they can receive from other publishers. I decided to throw my money where it will make the biggest difference hopefully in my life and support my local paper.
