Not really important.
For instance I usually prefer good gangsta rap over some super accessible/relatable shyt like Cole or Drake even though I didn't push drugs, didn't gangbang or anything like that. It's rather about the preferred sound and maybe it's also even more interesting for me because it's less relatable. It's about something I don't know from personal experiences so I'm more curious about it than about everyday stuff.

See this is exactly why I say I'm interested in the ARTIST and not how much they cater to me. Imagine going up to a painter on some "I can't relate to that art that you made" type shyt...Liking or not liking the art is one thing, trying to dictate what the artist does for your sake is some real selfish, unappreciative shyt.

You're saying it's crazy and stupid that Kante dropped the image of a normal middle class black American...as if he is still a normal, middle class black American. If he is being true to himself he CAN'T be what it is you say you want him to be.

I love to seek out different types of artist and hear what they have to say for themselves without worrying about how much it mirrors my life and experiences.
