Yees, this is why Kanye and before him Tribe(to an extent) was god amongst my generation(or people similar to me). Finally, a normal middle class Black American rapper that embraces this and still has a unique as swag. Crazy that Ye dropped that image. Looking at Cole rn, I think that was pretty stupid.
See this is exactly why I say I'm interested in the ARTIST and not how much they cater to me. Imagine going up to a painter on some "I can't relate to that art that you made" type shyt...Liking or not liking the art is one thing, trying to dictate what the artist does for your sake is some real selfish, unappreciative shyt.
You're saying it's crazy and stupid that Kante dropped the image of a normal middle class black American...as if he is still a normal, middle class black American. If he is being true to himself he CAN'T be what it is you say you want him to be.
I love to seek out different types of artist and hear what they have to say for themselves without worrying about how much it mirrors my life and experiences. Like I said it can be a + but when I'm out in the world moving and shaking I want diversity, I want to meet people that think, see, talk and emote in ways that I may not.
