By regularly I mean at least a 2 out of 7 days. If so click the poll with what times this is please. Poll is anonymous and unlimited as people often rise twice in my experience.

Also this isn't your usual kind of getting up after a nights sleep, it can be described as "One moment you're asleep, the next you're wide awake". Some people stay like this for a while and thus sleep very lightly. Others can switch it off like a light switch and close their eyes to drift off again. Sometimes there may be feelings of anxiety like a dry mouth, pounding heart etc.. that seemingly have nothing to do with anything you're aware of.

Its a deep topic. One which isn't spoken of that frequently but can be very rewarding to examine because every single one of you reading knows that when you've had a 100% quality nights sleep the "You" who rises the next day is like Superman in comparison to a crappy rest which makes the entire day seem like a test of your nerves and patience.

Note: If your regular time out of bed after eight hours is in any of these time periods, no need to comment. Example:

Person A goes to bed at 10PM each night. Is disturbed at 130AM, goes back to sleep for a few hours and opens her eyes at 4AM before returning to rest and then finally completes their 8 hours when their alarm goes off at 6AM.

In that case 6AM doesn't count because its her usual rising time but 130AM and 4AM are valid options.

usually between 3-5AM which used to leave me feeling like complete shyt at work bcuz it happened frequently…now I’m able to rest during the day to make up for the missed hours but then it ultimately leads to me having a fukked up sleeping cycle in which I’m asleep most of the day and wide awake at night when everything and everyone is done…I used to try and combat it by going to bed earlier since I knew I was gonna wake up between 3-5AM but all that resulted in is me getting up earlier than I normally did

I’m up between 3:30-4 with my alarm and without an alarm no later than 5am or so. It depends on when the sun rises.

I wake up around 3:30 everyday. The only thing saving me is working from home, and not having to be up early to commute.

Start tracking your sleep, visually, auditorily (the sleep app "Sleep Cycle" does this), and with a device, a wrist or better a headband for EEG readings.

The only time I would have the wakeups in the middle of the night, was when I overweight and I found that I kept waking up after 3-4 hours of sleep. What was happening, when analyzed with my headband and the sleep cycle app recording audio, is that at that period in which I reached a deep sleep, I would have an interruption in breathing that would wake me up. Now I fixed that with simply getting my weight down but I would strongly advise treating your sleep scientifically and recording what is going on during that period, instead of being lost at sea wondering what happened during a period of time you can't recollect. :mjlol:

Oh, and if you are splitting sleep like that, you are chasing sleep cycles, so if time spent in the restorative sleep stages are low or not experienced at all, it's almost like not sleeping for day. So take the approach above, if you find that some person in an apartment setting is getting up at that time and it's causing a disturbance in sleep, or traffic outside, invest in the Bose sleepbuds for sound drowning, they are expensive options but have been worth it, imo.
