There was a old man in our neighborhood back in the day who was handsy. Women would just make jokes about it like it was funny. But they made sure to tell their kids "Dont ever go in that house
". Because him and his wife would call people inside to help them with task they were supposedly too old to do. Looking back they probably didnt need help. Just saying. You never know whos on the sex offender registry list or got accusations on them. And as you said, theres more than enough people who will always joke or make light out of when these guys acting out their weirdness as it being "innocent" and "playful". They dont even have to send you a warning notice anymore whenever one of those sex offenders moves somewhere or even if they live nearby a school. I knew of someone who got accused of some shyt not too long ago in a lawsuit for something they did 30, 40 something years ago and honestly from what I saw from them 20 plus years ago when I happened to be around them , them motherfukkers are guilty because they would literally be touching folks on some uncomfortable shyt without their consent. Word was to avoid said individual and decades later, it turns out to be true. The crazy thing is that this person was in authority so can only imagine how many people this person violated. I know for schools, they literally just move people with accusations around to different school districts. Same with police officers.
