Sounds good on paper, but tell me how many businesses exist in the city you live in. The federal agency doing those types of inspections would have to check every business(with over x amount of employees) in your city AND state for illegal workers. Then check home owners who hire illegals for repairs,landscaping, babysitting,housekeeping.

The cost of the Israëli one is quite high (see the second part of my post), but they can afford it since the US subsidizes them. The political cost also obvisouly is quite high, but they don't care about it, neither do they about Palestinians. If that's the way you want to go about it...and obviously the lenght is extremely different.

The walls in Europe only divert the routes really. The flux has diminished because the war in Syria is less intense than a couple years ago. And you can't build a wall on the sea.

Obviously no course of action is going to completely stem the flow of illegal immigration but this notion that so many people are putting forth that building a wall would be useless and have no significant effect is absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic.

The wall is far too expensive and the terrain built on it makes it extremely difficult to build a tall azz steel see thru wall.
