I dunno. I'm black (and have lived in mostly black zip codes) and I've been offered lots of unsecured personal loans. These lenders only seem to care about your credit history, from what I can tell.

I remember applying for a credit card at my credit union years ago and the banker was all nonchalant and quiet until she pulled my credit. Then she got excited and started talking to me about all these different products with me.

Made me think how other people are treated when applying for credit.
