1 scholly a year for 3 years.

He probably thought the house was about to come down on Oregon like it did Pete Carroll/USC, so he skipped town. Probably called Pete and everything for advice on what he should do.

Now it's not even a slap on the wrist while he's gone off to the NFL.

He'll make more money short term, sure....but long term and reputation wise, it's a big setback. He could've stayed at Oregon for another several years, easy.

Nah.I think his dream like most coaches was to eventually coach in the NFL.But i'm sure with the sanctions coming down he felt this was as good a time as any,though.The Eagles is a great job.He was lucky to land on a team with talent already there.And if he fails he'll be able to get any college job available.

It is a bigger responsibility to coach in the NFL than in NCAA Div I football. With more responsibility, comes more exposure, possibility of a better career, more money, more credibility, etc. The flipside is epic failure.
I would have liked to go to the Eagles minicamp to spy on how he's coaching and how the team is doing.
