Like straight literature classes breaking down how the lyrics comment on social issues, comparable to the Harlem Renaissance?

also will literature even exist in the capacity it does today?

what y’all think?

Musically it will eventually get there but it’s going to take years maybe after our lifetimes it will be as respected as Jazz and it 100 years it will be as respected as Classical.

Lyrically, thematically and as a culture it will be respected much earlier. Run of the mill academics aren’t there yet with it but it will get there.

That's already happening. Nas, Common, Kendrick etc have been studied at various universities. But overall I don't think the classes will be respected within academia circles like the Harlem Renaissance and other periods were. It'll take time but we close could get there one day. Certain mediums aren't respected early. In literature for instance, Lord Of The Rings initially received mixed reviews because it was a fantasy novel. Despite the fact that Tolkien was a celebrated Oxford linguist, some academics turned their nose up at it. But of course today its regarded as a great literary achievement.
