Do you think that black people collectively may suffer from deep-rooted low self-esteem?

And that our eccentric displays of pride and braggadocio are really just a cover up? :francis:

Idk, just food for thought...

Uh...everyone battles self esteem, just some have less control and it becomes depression. Everyone has good and bad days, good and bad thoughts. It's never consistently good and positive.

Yes definitely that was part of the plan when they enslaved us. You cannot continue to enslave and disenfranchise a god unless the god believes he is worthlesss

Some of our stereotypically terrible spending habits, Desire to move out of our communities instead of improve them, and support other races entrepreneurship over our own is all tied to too many of us believing that others are better than us.

Yes to a certain extent, but everyone wants to be fly so that's not always the case, I do think knowledge of self is vital for young black kids

I think black people have been put under a magnifying glass when it comes to our "isms". Every race has the same issues we do but since black people are the most imitated our issues get put on exhibit like a freakshow.

Because whether we like it or not, we are the focus of everyone's attention.

You got cacs in small towns who don't even see black people complaining about how we are polluting their culture and taking their daughters :mjlol:

yes, we do...like the brotha @Walt said in one of his pieces: we, as blacks probably do suffer from a wide spread depression that we ignore, brush off, and/or just dont know how to deal with....i think low self-esteem is part of that depression....

we have to realize that shyt was purposely instilled into us since this country was founded, to make it easier to control/enslave our people...and that shyt has been passed down generation after generation....it's gonna take a complete reset to our way of thinking to correct it, but that's not gonna happen over night....just how we were beat down mentally generation after generation, we'll have to build it up the same...it's gonna take generation after generation for us to get a better overall mental health as a people....
