Do you think we will ever see large Super Bowl favorites again?

Like the 94 49ers were 18 point favorites over the chargers. The rams were 14 point favorites over the Pate in 2001, Pats were 12 point favorites in SB 42 against the giants.

Even getting to 10 point spreads in the big game seems impossible now unless the starting QB for one of the teams goes down the week of.

If Washington had beat Philly we don’t think it would’ve been a 10 point spread or more?
Chiefs wasnt good enough to be a 10 pt favorite. Washington would be the hottest team in football, coming off three straight road playoff wins. KC prob wouldve been -6.5 to maybe 7..

Eagles were 15-20 points better then the Chiefs based on their run if play coming into the Super Bowl, even if the line didn’t reflect that. The books just got the line wrong. So yeah it could happen as the books adjust

No

A hardcap makes sure that there are no stacked teams anymore like there were in the 80’s and 90’s because you can only keep so many good players when there is a hardcap

The best teams in today’s game have maybe 2 or 3 hall of famers. Some of those 80’s Niners teams and other dynasties had near double digit hall of famers on them

In todays game the difference in talent between the best team in the league and 12th best team is marginal

All it takes is a random wildcard getting there. It's less likely but it will happen at some point in the future.

If injuries played a role sure. Imagine if Hurts or Mahomes went down in the final quarter of the conference finals, and was ruled out of the SB. It would have to be something like that.

I cant remember the exact number, but the defending champion Packers, were I believe, 14 pt favs over the 97 Broncos, in SB32..The Packers had 3 HOFers in Favre, White and Butler. While Denver had 5 HOFers Elway, Davis, Zimmerman, Sharpe and Atwater.

SF would've definitely been 10+ dogs in 2022 vs KC if they got there with Purdy and Jimmy G both hurt. Practically impossible in this era without an injury swinging the line.

Shannon has said before Mike Shannahan talked about how big underdogs they were going into that SB, as a means as motivation

Steelers dynasty did you’re right not the Niners

Point is though the top teams were way more stacked back in the day when there was no cap and you could have tons of good to great players on your team if you were willing to pay them

Nowadays you can only afford to keep a few really good players
