No.
Black art has gone fully mainstream which takes power away from the Black audience which serves as a filtering mechanism for talent.

Now, all Black art has been pigeonholed into trap rap etc which means if you're not in that sphere you're ignored.

What do you think of the song posted, would you listen to this, would you sign them to Universal?

it's getting the wrong recognition. the song you posted isn't bad but it's overproduced. there's obviously auto-tune helping out their voices. it would hit a lot differently if they just sang instead of sing rapping.

listen to how they sing and compare it to an OG

there's more range and the lyrics hit different.

They're not half bad, theyre like a version of Rene and Angela but without the energy. Overall the song is at least clean and inoffensive which is a positive now. Id have to hear more stuff before committing to a contract

Talent doesn’t matter anymore.. do u have drama going on in your life? are u living recklessly out here ?

That’s what tv and music commercially is looking for

I told my little cousin friend who wanted to get into acting in school, don’t do it.. u spending 4 years in college for a degree u not going to use because look wants on tv washed up rappers and thots with no skills just bullshyt drama and this is what’s getting attention, because it’s cheap to produce and they pay them scraps

So these two young kid's are a couple, both born in the late 90s and making great music but people not giving it props

You gotta post a better example of exemplary talent though. This just ain't that good. It's like watered down 90s R&B meets overproduced, autotune nonsense from this contemporary era, much like @Seoul Gleou mentioned a few posts above this.

Music in general sounds too much alike these days, regardless of genre. I honestly haven't seen anything special with any new artists going on 10+ years now.
