Something I was ruminating on based on some readings and to some extent it seems plausible to me that many people would trust their experiences over a fact.

but this is a weird question...

sometimes I go with my gut on things, but that's usually something like a career choice or choosing to believe something in an interpersonal relationship that could have possibly been some BS or something.

not really something i'm judging against cold hard facts on.

Surely first hand experience is fact

:jbhmm:
some people claim that all *insert type of people* are one way due to a first hand experience, sometimes the only experience they've ever had .

that's how a lot of people justify prejudice and certain racist ideology that are literally factually inaccurate beliefs.

Facts over everything…first hand experiences can be skewed and also the majority of people are dumbasses who prolly didn’t internet that experience correctly.

In what circumstance would my own experience not be a fact?
I'm sure you can think of some instances or go off the example already listed by a previous user.

I trust my intuition and experience first, always.

Facts over everything…first hand experiences can be skewed and also the majority of people are dumbasses who prolly didn’t internet that experience correctly.

Facts are not truth.

I could tell you or even show you a gang of bullshyt about a particular subject. Even if what I'm saying is a complete lie or even a string of elaborate half truths...you still have your 'facts' to then make a decision on.

That's not to say don't take any facts into account or that you can't use discernment in tandem with your intuition...but you need to tap in FIRST.
