Do You Value Boxing Titles?

Boxing titles are pretty inconclusive as to who is truly the best in the division since there's a million different organizations (ok 4 major ones) but do you actually think a boxer managing to snag a belt is influential as to how skilled they're considered?

Personally, I don't put much value in a boxer holding one, two, or even three belts. Unless they're the undisputed champ it's under my own judgement. i.e. Ruiz holds 3 belts and Wilder holds 1, but I don't consider Ruiz better than Wilder.

another thing: Canelo could be stripped of all his titles and I'd still be more inclined to watch him fight a non-title bout vs. a top ranked opponent, as opposed to watching a title bout between 2 fighters I consider lesser.

Preferably the goal to me is to attempt to clear out the other champions if you're not fighting the top contenders in your division. Plus it also depends how a fighter moves with the belts he or she has won.

It's all about context bro. Who they beat is always more important than how many belts they held in my opinion.

Yes I value them, not everyone can be world champ, some really good boxers haven't been a world champ before.

If a champ on the p4p list threw all their belts in the trash i wouldn’t give a damn long as they took competitive fights afterwards
I can only link a few fighters to specific alphabets despite watching damn near every televised fight, it’s kind of meaningless to me now
Then you got weird shyt like what happened with canelo and charlo swapping belts (I don’t even know which alphabet that was)

Hard not to view the WBA, WBC and WBO as joke organizations nowadays
Their value inflated, I think less and less serious boxing fans give a shyt about them

Unified champs still got some respect though especially if someone can go undisputed

I hope the organizations all go bankrupt maybe except the IBF, the only irganization who stick to their rules sometimes even to a fault

problem is it's impossible for casuals to follow this but they don't even care that much imo... that's why I think it's pointless to parade every WBA regular and WBC interim champs around with belts, I don't even know how they don't feel ashamed by showing off those belts, they are in the industry, they know the best what loads of BS are these made up belts and that they are no true world champions.

Like how Gervonta Davis can be proud of his belt when it was a result of political maneuvering and the actual WBA belt is Cancio's who beat the man who beat the man...? How Matthysse celebrated he finally became a world champion when it was just a damn regular belt and he never really became a world champion? How Charlo is parading around as the WBC champ when he only got it cause Canelo got 'upgraded" and he's basically the WBC's "regular" champion now?

It's like these organizations would be those birds who clean the crocodiles' teeth. They acoommodate promoters and fighters with made up titles to pamaper fighters' egos and in turn they can eat.

How you value the WBC more than others when they make up a new belt every other months? They just invented "franchise champion"

The WBO doesn’t rank PBC fighters lmao all of these bodies are jokes, the WBA has like 6 belts
