The pros such as progressive movements, holding powerful people accountable (me too, etc) pale in comparison to the long term cons affecting people (anxiety, envy, insecurity, stupidity, narcissism, less face to face socialization). Ive long argued it will be the worst thing to overall happen to humanity. If not already. I count social media era really from 2011-2012 or so onward. We have already seen negative effects of it and it will only continue to get worse

Nobody can be in the moment anymore. Everything has to be catalogued and people have to let us know every facet of their lives.

Now we can go live on the move its even worse. People who have over a 100 tweets a day or multiple selfies for no good reason.

You have people creating a false impression of themselves and. the lives they live. I think we’ll see when this gen grows up just how poisonous its been overall
