:ehh: i can see that. still tho it would be hard to watch everybody die while u stick around forever like a vampire.
Yeah, you'll just have to adapt by either not getting too attached to people or by getting used to the pain. :yeshrug: it's a positive or negative depending on how you look at it.

Confuse being immortal with being omnipotent, brehs :pachaha:

I know it would probably go to my head until someone gets fed up with me and cuts me up and send the pieces to different parts of the world, or buried me alive somewhere. That's the only way to get rid of immortals.

Yeah but immortals still feel pain, can be physically weak, can go insane, can go in comas, etc and the diminishing return on life would be high after a good 200 years.

That's why if you were immortal, it would be important to appreciate the little things. Learn all you can and teach wisdom. You could be a wise old hermit or a "witch"/medicineman.

I think it would depend on your mindset. You could see how everything around you changes yet you remain the same as a depressing bad thing or appreciate it like watching a child grow.

Appreciating each small action would help.

The Bushes
in Tolkien's Middle Earth, the race of Elves are immortal to a degree. The only things able to kill them are a broken heart or if they are killed by violence. But they live forever and become more beautiful/handsome as they age; not susceptible to illness or disease. The Elves called death the Gift of Men, given to men by the Creator. Originally it was not feared by Men but accepted gracefully because it allowed their souls to be liberated and travel beyond the physical world. But the enemy (Sauron) corrupted this idea and made Men fear death and envy the Elves who lived forever. And the Elves envied Men because they themselves were bound to the Earth and carried its fate with them. Men hated death so much that they tried to sail to the Elves' continent to obtain immortality but they never made it and their own continent ended up getting destroyed.

At the beginning of mean streets
I can do it. You just have to live unattached to temporary things but connected to the beauty of life.
If I was immortal, I could probably convince people that I was some sort of deity and when I get bored travel to someother place and commune with nature for some solitude.

You even could walk the ocean floor, because you wouldn't die.
As long as I can still enjoy food and sex (unlike vamps), and the simple things it'd be good,

Imagine seeing all your loved ones perish and you're still alive. You can't grow an attachment to anyone because you'll always be around and they won't. The damage it does to one's psyche must be immense. :wow:

I think I'm the odd one out because I don't get that attached to people. That's why it's not that big a deal to me. :yeshrug:

Life is temporary, everyone has to go someday. Death is apart of life.
I appreciate them while they are here.

The problem with living forever is the fact that your love ones DON'T :scust:

I don't want to know the feeling of watching all my kids/friends/family die. :sadcam:

You could always live forever without loving another person. ...but that right there is hell on earth:merchant:
If the technology is ready for you, it will also be ready for family/friends/everyone
