Wearing Lions gear when it wasn't cool
In accounting, roles are clearly defined. I'm a controller, right underneath the CFO. I am going to try to be one in a few years. I have a lot to learn still and I'm acknowledging that I do need to learn. Once these years pass, I'll be ready.
Skill wise, I knew I'd always be OK, it's more about the apprehension of the political nature of things where I was worried at first. Where I am now, I have a lofty position and pay and there are a lot of people management things that I have to deal with. I have 5 accountants on my staff and I have to be mindful of all of their work and ongoings as well as requests from my supervisor, the CFO and her supervisor, the CEO.
At my level, the buck stops with me a lot of times but I can handle it and maintain. So I have that assurance with myself that I can take this farther.
Where is everybody at with their career plans?
