Doc Rivers gets alot of blame for being horrible, and rightfully so, but he really was a trailblazer for Black coaches in the NBA
Before Doc, a black coach would be relegated to coaching rebuilding teams or be damn near perfect to even coach a winning team. That 2008 championship opened the floodgates to give Black coaches a chance to coach winning teams who are championship contenders

Even mediocre Black Coaches can be be employed now
