I agree. But in fairness to that, it's kinda like the Mavs. The Clips are always in contention year after year, so they're just good enough record-wise to miss out on geting good picks.

Of course the Spurs are always a top team yet always draft well....but they're just on a different level from almost everyone else.

You aint in contention if in all that time you haven't made the conference finals and have suffered epic playoff losses.

the lottery is based on regular season records. So when the Clippers are 2nd/3rd seed, etc, they are "contenders"
