Everyone speaks on Drake and Cudi bringing melody to the game but fif was early with the singing. And it was dope because he was singing about killin nikkas before the awful metaphors (candy shop, amusement park lol WOAT)

But... He had a whole lotta NY cats trying to sing their hooks in 03 to 05ish. I'm not saying Kanye/Drake/Cudi etc did not have influence, I'm simply asking is 50 not getting enough credit.

Wtf? Wasnt JaRule doing it before him?:dahell:

Matter fact, didn't 50 CLOWN Ja for doing it if I remember correctly?
50 clowned Ja for singing

Show me a track where 50 and Ja sound alike

With that being said, you can hear the 50 influence in French, Max B, Chinx etc

Is this bait? Rappers like Nelly and Ja predate 50 at doing “sing-song” rhyme styles.

Nobody was inspired by those niccas style :russ:

Plenty young rappers coming out now saying they rap because of 50. You want me to start listing ?

NONE SAY THAY ABOUT JA :laff:

The question wasn't who was the first to sing on a rap song :russ:

I see what you saying and 50 deserves some but not all credit for that.

50's ability to ride any beat is underrated though.

OP said, and I quote, "fif was early with the singing", so yeah, that makes bringing up Ja, Nate dog, Missy Elliot, bone thugz, or Nelly relevant since they sold a shyt ton of records doing styles that fall under that "sing rap" umbrella. Can't claim someone was early on a style that was already popularized. In regards to Ja rule, specifically, he practically influenced the entire male/female, call and response, chorus type records in Hip hop. Some quick examples:

Cam'ron/Toya - Hey Ma Remix
50 Cent/Olivia - Candy Shop
Busta Rhymes/Mariah Carey - I Know What You Want
LL Cool J/J. Lo - All I Have

And please, fetch me the list of rappers who flat out state they were inspired by trash like Just A Lil Bit, Disco inferno, and Amusement park. I got to see that shyt.:russ:
