There seems to be opposite thoughts on this:

1) "A drunken mind tells no lies/speaks sober thoughts" basically alcohol removes inhibitions and self-judgement and reveals who you really are

2) "Alcohol makes me _____" fill in the blank with any of the following: aggressive, fun, talkative, mean, impulsive". Basically some form of alcohol fundamentally changes who you are and your personality/character.

Which one of these do you believe to be true?

I don't think the "drunk minds speak sober thoughts" thing is 100% true. It is true that people are more likely to reveal their feelings when they're drunk, but they're also more likely to express their feelings improperly. So they might try to say one thing, but end up saying something that sounds worse

Alcohol stimulates the lower nature in man and lowers inhibition.

Yes it removes inhibit and the buffer between you and the thoughts and feelings you try to repress, but that is not who you 'really' are.
