Does anybody else just miss the good ol' days?

I always feel very sad when browsing youtube and watching old footage from back in the day.

It's just amazing how great entertainment was back in the day and how I took those times for granted. I often feel depressed when comparing what I grew up on to this new era SMH.

I mean the piff tv theme songs in sitcoms/cartoons, likeable fun commercials, enjoyable music from all genres and let's not get into the video game ones WOW, amazing movies even the cheesy ones were so much fun, celebrities weren't annoying etc

Toys were great, outdoor activity was heavily promoted, pretty much having a good time without doing anything crazy was encouraged, it's so different now with the police state society we are in at the moment.

There was always something to look forward to and majority of the time, whatever it was always lived up to expectation or totally blew our minds away.

Sadly that feeling is now completely gone, it seems as if society is deliberately doing things to annoy us.

Those born after Sept 11 2001 sadly won't ever understand or experience that feeling we had before that incident.

A lot of spirits are broken, I long for those good times again...

100% of everyone from every generation feels this way. Kids born 2000 years from now will reminisce about the "good ol days of 4013" when it's 4029. shyt wasn't better back then, your LIFE was better back then. You were a kid, you had no responsibility. Your objective for the year was to pass the 7th grade and have a good time. Of course working 45+ hour weeks, raising kids, paying bills, and fukking the same chick until you wither and die doesn't compare. GTFOH.

Being born in the late 70's-early 80 will probably keep the record for best time for growing up.

I mean you got to get exposed to a little bit of everything in your youth till now, from outside event's like the park and "block party's" to the rise of electronics's like basic TV to cable to DVR to digital. Watched cell phones go from looking like something the out of the pentagon to mini pocket size computers. TV from huge boxes on the floor to being able to hang on the wall. Video game systems went from Text base to 8 bit to all out 3d cinematic master pieces.

We got to use encyclopedia before google and had to go to the library as well. We got to use computers when it was for school, work, and business mostly and less for social media, gossip and entertainment. We got to experience the news when it just reported the new and didn't try to sway you one way or the other.

We got to experience the radio when it was diverse, we go to experience recording to tape cassettes, the CD player, the rise of burning CD, the rise of napster, the fall of napster, and the ushering in of MP3 players.

We got to experience book stands and new stands, getting or information mostly in a physical way and not digital, now we have digital books on Nooks and Ipads.


So really if you grew up as a 80's baby you can say you grew up in the good old day's. We probably got to witness more than any generation to date and we still got plenty of time.

Went to an K-Rino show tonight, only took my phone out for pictures like 3 times. I don't want to be one of "those" people who take pictures/videos of the concert the whole time than seeing it with their own eyes.
