You know, the feeling before you came to terms with it being "sports entertainment"?



The last match that I was able to allow myself to temporarily suspend logic and just be a prisoner of the moment was The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan. The idea of them fighting each other seemed so surreal. Bret vs Shawn, Hogan vs Sting, Savage vs DDP etc I've been searching for that feeling one last time but I just can't do it these days.

Partially. I enjoy the fukkery though. I love Bryan to death, but I find him getting the beats part of the game that's enjoyable. People can be cynical with Wrestling cause of the IWC. I personally enjoy the story lines though, because 5-7 later... that one fruit looking dude with the curls' is now your superstar; you see a wrestler grow up.

Still though. The last time I found something that got me was when Matt Hardy came back during Edge/Lita well known sexcapades.

Calling those free hotlines (wuddup Talking Yellow Pages) as a kid made it hard for me to believe anything as I knew things in advance, even then.

The MTL screwjob was probably the last thing that actually had me sucked in - but I was 12 around that time so it was more the backstage shyt that made it feel real.

I do miss that feeling of being a youngin' and legit being scared of guys like Jake and Snake and Papa Shango - or being all when Yoko crushed Duggan's soul with multiple Bonzai drops and making him "internally bleed" after he knocked him off his feet for the first time

Only time I get that feeling now (or allow myself to, rather) is when I know there is some heat, even if it's minor, between two Superstars. That's why I always love Punk/Cena matches cause you know there's still some hostility in there but they put on such great matches that it feels as real as it possibly can (when you're in your late 20s). That, or worked-shoots.

Once again, I see what you did there. Anyway, sometimes I wish I could just have an ISRTMD moment, and hopefully this storyline with Bryan will deliver.
