Freeway

When son came out I remember a LOTTA nikkas hated him at first.
But when they finally got used to his voice and his rhymepatterns and
Started understanding how he structured his bars and rhymepatterns they started fukkin with him

I remember buying Philadelphia Freeway and in the booklet of the album it had his rhymes written out.
I remember lookin at the Victim Of The Ghetto lyrics confused
like how these shyts even be rhymin, B :wtf:
But them shyts FIRE when I play it :ohlawd:

Play the song and follow the lyrics

I was born in west, but migrated to north
Remember cold nights grindin', AK in a Taurus
Four door, for the stick up boys, if they want war
Fiends comin' all night, all I heard
was “four more:wtf:
Rocks in the cap
When it was jumpin' me and Rell hit dances
You could pick me out the crowd, rockin' the cap
But things changed, cause my man Rell fightin' a body
On
State Road, where it's so cold
Rock
in' his blues
I
roll with the ROC
Still tryna rock at a show
shyt ain't like 98', nikkas pockets is low
Which
way do I go? - Freeway (Victim Of The Ghetto)

Just look at it.
Them rhymepatterns weird as hell, the nikka just be skippin bars to rhyme and bring it back LATER.
but if you LISTEN to them in rhythm it makes sense.
It makes sense because Free doesn't write his shyt.

His flow is so unique on top of that, shyt is just dope as hell

What We Do in the whip?! :ohlawd:

Been sayin this shyt forever, Freeway’s rhymestyle intriguing as hell. Philadelphia Freeway a classic to me :ohlawd:

I would love to hear Freeway break down how he came up with his style. I hated his whiny voice and unorthodox rhyme structure at first, but when I started to hear it more and understand the science I was like this nikka is a genius. You have to have an ear for rhyme patterns and schemes to fully appreciate Freeway IMO.
