Does anybody swear by Chevron's "Techron"? Shell "V Power", etc?

I never been moved by em but I really don't know. I'm not a dedicated customer like that on gas.

Chevron is recognized as "good gas" but I personally never feel a difference with it. I think BP 93 is the best gas but it's too expensive so I settle for shell 91.

Shell 93 is expensive but you can feel the difference in your engines performance. TBH it depends on the car i think. My old car liked BP 93 better than shell. But theyre both good. The only ones i use.
I use Shell 93 too. My car recommends 93 because of the turbo. I had one in my old car as well, but 93 wasn't recommended. I put 93 in it more often than not and I definitely noticed a difference; especially when I drove it in sport mode. I refuse to put anything less in my car now.

i buy from Costco, or the Sinclair down the street. but as long as you're getting a Top Tier brand, there's no reason to get ripped off by Shell, Chevron, BP, etc

If it's on the top tier list, you're more than likely ok. If you're that paranoid about it, run sea foam or whatever carbon build up cleaner you like through you car from time to time.

I got sold on Shell V Power after I replaced the battery in my LaCrosse. The check engine light would come on sporadically and it would idle a rough when it did. Next time it did, I got the scan codes for it, and said something about the fuel/air mixture.

Come to find out, when I replaced the battery, not only did it reset all the settings to factory, but the way the engine was receiving the fuel air mixture too. Since the computer was basically reset, it was telling the engine that the air mixture was too lean which led to engine light coming on and the rough idling. I put 93 in it once the tank got low, and the light went off, and the car ran like a champ until I traded her in. I was worried because I thought something was wrong, and was amazed that something as simple as putting premium in it fixed it. I've been running V Power ever since.

Yeah, I've seen tons of opened engines in my lifetime and you can easily see the difference between those who had cheap gas run through them all their lives vs ones that were fed with good additives, especially techron. Engines that were run with strictly chevron gas had minimal carbon deposits on their pistons and valves, while cheap gas ones would be fouled to shyt with crusty gunk all over them. I only run Chevron 91 in my 2001 740 and I feel like it's a big reason that it's still running like a bat out of hell with 220k on the original engine. If you plan on keeping a car for a long time, don't run shytty gas through it.
