What they will do is leverage mechanism such as police powers and political control to further oppress and suppress black Americans at large

People aren’t about to tear up their homes and businesses. This country is too developed to go into war with itself.

As in fullscale warfare? No. I doubt that would ever happen no matter how divisive things get. If a conflict did play out like that it would probably be more similar to The Troubles in the UK.

There would never be an "official" Civil War like the one in the 1800s. If nothing else the sides are too spread out for North vs. South to really make sense.

California is more of a technological economic power propped up by the military industrial complex.Honestly, i could see an east vs west divide. California is functionally, structurally, and economically self sufficient. All it takes is for a republican in office to go too hard on gays or the environment for CA to just say peace and bounce.
There is waaaaay too much intellectual and military capital in that state, very similar to how the south had all those military academies and generals concentrated in south carolina and georgia during the OG civil war. I mean seriously, 75% of the nation's military and academic R&D is in the bay. If NY and those north eastern states joined CA due to ideological alignment then it would be a wrap.
And I dont see the south(or any republican state) being able to support itself in such a conflict besides Texas. The very nature of republicans gutting their economic and educational systems in favor of pocketing the money, basically handicapped their populace in any future conflict. It would be foolish for republicans to engage in a civil war because their only reward(except for texas) would be poverty both during and after the conflict.
Hell, Silicon Valley would be dead in the water if not for massive funding by the Department of Defense.
Along with a lot of the so-called top universities in the Bay. They get massive funding from the DOD and all of those defense companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. I’ve seen it firsthand. Shyt is massively fukked.

The powers that be would never allow it. If America goes down, the whole world goes down with it. Plus, like others already stated, there's no ideology that most Americans are willing to die for as of now. For another civil war to happen, we have to be 90s Somalia status- economywise.
