I was wondering if anyone here uses Audible? I read often but want to get into the audiobooks more. I know this is consider one of the top services. Yeah, it is a little pricey, but does anyone use it here? Thoughts?

I use it and have the monthly membership. Its great for "reading" books when you don't have time to actually sit down and read. I have a shyt ton of reading and studying to do already for school so its the perfect medium for me to "read" books while in bed before I fall asleep or on long drives.

Highly recommend it. With a the monthly sub you get a credit (sometimes more depending if they have a special) to get a free book every month. Love it.

Audio books are much better quality than I think they used to be too. Though some are duds. However, reviews will help you decide which ones to check out.

Perhaps my favorite so far was In Cold Blood (though this book has some :mjpls: moments from the main characters which is balanced by the fact they're psychopath losers.)

So you pay 14.95 a month, and you get one free book a month. I that right? And this book you own, correct?

So in addition to the 14.95, what if you see another book you want...you have to pay for that on top of the 14.95 access fee to the audible? Or can you listen to as many books as you want. What is the month fee for, if you can't?

I guess I am not understanding how it works.

With the membership you get a free credit to buy any book you want no matter the price every month. If you want to buy another book you pay full price after that.

Personally, I just wait until my credits kick in before I buy a book, unless its something I REALLY want right now.

so basically you are paying 14.95 a month for 1 credit which equals one book?

Damn. I guess that is cool if you are a reader. I may try it.

Damn I feel that 14.95 for one book a month isn't good value but I guess that's because I'm comparing the value to streaming music as opposed to buying books.

But it would be better value if for 9.99 - 19.99 you got unlimited books etc.
