I only keep receipts needed for tax purposes but I keep a record of every penny earned and spent. It's easy to see where money goes that way and you can predict and adjust spending habits. I've actually done some money consultation for some big earners who don't know what to do with money and keep track of all expenses is the first thing I tell them.

Only ones worth keeping are like anything medical related, car payments or repairs, and large purchases like phones or electronics incase something goes wrong. Grab yourself one of those expanding pocket folders with multiple slots so everything can be organized if you need it for tax purposes or something.

THREE-OH-FIVE TILL I DIE
When we did our taxes last year, the old lady at H&R told us that ALL sales taxes are refundable.
So, in 2013, we saved every receipt we got.
We took them to H&R this year and we sat there and added up all sales taxes.
It came up to about $565.00.

We were not able to use that $565 because we didn't owe any taxes.
But, if we did, that money would've went towards lowering our tax bill.

Y'all better itemize like them white folks, nga.
