What kind do you have, assuming you are happy with it.

I am planning on ordering a
Wacom Intuos
th

(I have never used one of these before, btw... but I'm a computer programmer and competent artist so I hope it won't be jarring to get used to.)

It is a mystery

intous's higher end tablets are industry standard. It's not necessary as a first drawing tablet as if it's your first one you won't feel why exactly it's so great but if money is no issue then go for it :yeshrug:

I use the Intuos Pro (small - but I wouldn't want it any bigger) and it's wondeful. I heard the Bamboo is also fine to start with. Going to start saving money for a Cintiq though.

@Brooklynzson blessed me with one. Ease of use is simple. It pressure sensitive. Works great with Illustrator. It's nice. Cop it :banderas:

@notPsychosiz most time size preference depends n how you draw. some people like drawing small and draw with their wrists, the small tablets are usually what they rock with. I am a medium sized drawring type, i started with a small for years, tried a big ass one and didnt like it, the medium one was perfect, then i graduated to a cintiq.

Ha... I don't have 1k to drop on a cintiq yet. I gotta get the feel of using the pad, thats why I was starting with a 100-200 dollar one.
I'm just debating between the small/medium at the moment.

The pads like the cintiq where they have the screen built in is actually what I want, but I remember when I wanted to learn to drive an automatic I just bought a stick-shift outright and learned on it- which by the time I could drive it had fukked up my clutch. So I don't wanna repeat that proverbial mistake.

i wasnt saying get a cintiq, shyt there are cheaper and adequate cintiq like screens out there tho. just lettin you know that for some folk the small pad is cool cuz the draw primariily with their wrist.

If you did cop a screen, you'd probably never want to draw on a pad ever again. :russ:

I might start with the small then. I am a precession kind of guy so that might be the way to go to start off.

What software do you use? And what are you creating? Art, comics, animation, etc...??

Manga studio is what I was planning on getting.
Thank you very much for the input. It has been both helpful and reassuring.
