Does bullying help those that need to loose weight? 🧐 I think it’s a good method ….

It mostly just accelerates people getting to a point of being honest with themselves about their weight and what they want to do about it.

the military as a whole has lost sight of the fact that physical fitness/exercise is a pillar of readiness....and the corrective actions they're implementing still aren't fixing the problems at their root cause.

for that girl in particular,i do believe that if it weren't for the instant dopamine hit she's gonna get from likes/comments about her weight loss journey....she wouldn't be as invested in it.

Houston to LA like I'm Robert Horry.
Different strokes for different folks. If someone was relatively fit and then started picking up some extra poundage recently, bullying might work on some ā€œdamn I didn’t even realize I was looking like that let me get on itā€

For most obese folks, they are perfectly aware that they are obese and so shaming them generally just enhances self hatred they already had towards themselves. Positive reinforcement, necessity, and/or internal desire is what’s going to push these folks.

If obese people really have a food addiction then that'd be like trying to bully an alcoholic into not drinking

Plus I don't see why a balanced adult would engage in bullying period but that's me

No, bullying The Fats doesn’t work. They’ll just get defensive and their enablers and fetishists will form up like Voltron against you for ā€œfat shamingā€ and ā€œnot being body positiveā€ and liking ā€œprepubescent boysā€. :snoop:

Positive reinforcement like @Givethanks said doesn’t really work either; they already get that (+) feedback loop completed when they stuff their gullets full of food. :martin:

The only thing that works to create a lasting change for them IME is something flipping the switch in their mind. Until that change comes from within, it’ll be the same old excuses and the same old failures at making changes. :francis:
