I'm trying to understand this "gray market" and what it means when we choose to pay less for games on PC. Are they losing sales and money by having gamers use these sites? Does this affect their view of making PC a priority in making well optimized ports? I've bought a few games off both sites, but I've also purchased a few games straight up as well. I heard people were getting their codes revoked on Gears of War 4 keys so I just bought it straight from the Microsoft store for $60. I also didn't see a huge saving on Battlefield 1 using either site so I just copped it straight up for $60 on Origin. I just need some definitive answers on how this really impacts things.

I read a story from a dev who explained that those gray market sites are worse for them than piracy.

Basically a lot of those keys are stolen or purchased with stolen credit cards which actually costs devs money in the long run.
