I won't say he doesn't deserve another year but he does deserve a chance to compete for a starting position depending on how the draft shakes out I'd pick a QB if my scouting department rates him highly and I'd also bring in a free agent propect and let them compete for it....best man gets the job.

Now if one of (Jamise/MM) fall to me than it's their job....but if I get a 2-4th rd QB it's all about comp.

He'll have a whole offseason to improve and the Jets were in awful shape period for the last few years where no QB could have really done well. However, Geno has hardly shown flashes of being a franchise QB so he has a lot of work he needs to do.

Give him a chance with a competent HC

why do QB's in NFL get so little time to develop? makes no sense to me

I think Jets have only had 1 negative year with him, you could easily say that 8-8 rookie season was a success because the jets were projected to be top 3 worst team and this season had Vick breathing down his neck

He did flash. Wasn't his fault we had David Nelson as a go to receiver the first half of the season with Decker hurt & Brian Winters who is STILL in the top 15 of qb pressures at guard although missing 3/4 of the season.

He played well enough the last part of the season to compete for the job. To see him actually adjust and start to put air on his throws showed growth

Yes, Geno should start with a new HC, line and weapons. He has developed in increments this year, but he's nonetheless developed. Most cac QBs get more than 2 years even when they suck.

I don't know why he came to an epiphany that he can put touch on a football the last few weeks of the season. Had he done so earlier, he would have connected on some TDs.

He's honestly played well the past few weeks. Not many mistakes passing wise when I watch the film. He's really cut back on the dumb throws. He outplayed Brady last week honestly.

He did the same thing last year at the end of the year when teams were out of the playoff race or or we're locked into a seed

Let me see him do it when teams are motivated to play

He's been inconsistent since college I don't see that changing

No he didn't. Geno never posted any perfect QB rating last and didn't throw touch passes either. I keep hearing that he did the "same thing" last year. The only thing he did last year which is the same is that he played well. But this year he not only played well, but in a different, more substantial way than last year.

He played a team that the week before got knocked out of the playoffs they gave no shyts about that game at all

I can see if you want Geno to be able to compete for the job next year but the fact you want him to be the starter no questions asked next year is bizarre are u related to dude?

He ain't my QB so yeah sure give that boy another shot. If I was a Jets fan though I wouldn't be trying to hear that.

Nah. Last year he ended the season running. He ran for 400 yards the last seven games. Nope. It was different. This year he progressed as a passer. I didn't see any bad decision throws since the Bills game in NY.

Kirk Cousins might get a starting job before Geno :wow:

Geno was killing the Pats defense last week. He wasn't making these throws last year. I've seen him make 1 bad decision that past six weeks. Lots of his good throws came out of play action which dumb as Marty doesn't often utilize

who else they gonna get. next season is basically a free year from where i'm sitting. give geno the keys and let him sink or swim. not sure who's the big 2016 qb prospect(s) but cross that bridge when you get there
