Met him in 99. I can't remember if he was working on something at the time but he was in the Columbia, MD area for about two weeks. I was an Asst Mgr at Blockbuster Video during this period in time and dude came thru the store I was working at least three times. We talked for a good 5 - 10 minutes about The Roots. Things Fall Apart had just dropped and dude was in love with the album. He seemed like a cool ass dude.

Our "profiles" are digital representations of the information we want the world to know about us ...you don't know WHO is actually behind the computer screen.
I meant that Michael Rapaport was "there" and hung around with the artists, not that No_bammer_weed was there(though he may have been, I don't know).

As for that other stuff, I don't know what you're trying to say. You're all over the place.

No_bammer_weed "handed a title of authority" to Rapaport because Rapaport has been involved in hip hop culture longer and more intimately than probably anyone on the Coli. So yeah, he was right to say what he said. What does race have to do with it?

If a 70 year old asian has been a Jazz fan for 5 decades, bought the records and was there for the concerts and knew Miles Davis on a personal level, wouldn't I be justified in saying that he is more of an authority on Jazz than most black people under at least 50 years of age?

That's my point exactly race has nothing to do with it ... but @No_bammer_weed is making it an race issue when he makes statements like that. 97% of Coli? C'mon fam...just cause he was in a few flicks and put together a decent documentary?

Mark Wahlberg and Scotty Caan put on too, there's SO MANY unsuspecting white people that love hip-hop, and you wouldn't even know...but a thread of this nature and my man's 97% comment is the reason why Eminem and Macklemore slip through the proper filters and have a choke hold on this shyt.

:dwillhuh::dwillhuh: Yo I didn't notice until this week watching something on NBA TV that ever since the 90s, any program that focuses on black people, this guy Michael Rapaport is sounding off. Does he have a hood pass, what makes him such an authority :comeon: on our culture?

He knows more about the culture than most of these so called "real nikkas" partaking in hip hop today

Dumb ass Coli black militants shut the fukk up y'all all a bunch of smart dumb nikkas :camby:

Rapaport is hip hop dude knows more about hip hop than the majority of this board, he grew up in NYC when this hip hop shyt was starting to bubble, he respected the culture and fell in love with it and he's well respected by blacks in hip hop and television circles.

Dude produced one of my favorite documentaries Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, named his son after Maseo of De La Soul, and he's been in classic hip hop movies like Zebrahead, Poetic Justice, Hitch, Higher Learning.

Rapaport is one of those white dudes that can kick it with blacks, I don't understand what's wrong with you nikkas

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
First of all, he's from Boston... Home of the "White Men who love to swag-jack BM."
Second, he's made his living in Hollywood as the typecast wigga.
Third, he's from that from that era where hip-hop first became cool to white males. He is an white aficionado of black culture.

I'm not from Boston, but its known for being racist as shyt.
