Does Nas double his vocals like Tupac did?

Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish the difference

No he doesn't and I am so glad he doesn't. Always hated the multiple vocal tracks

I think most rappers have adlibs nowadays though,
Just lowered in volume to back the main vocal track.

I really love Pete Rock's adlibs when he was with C.L. Smooth.
It can give a track a lot of extra flavour. Pete was so creative with it.

most rappers do a double in the very least. they'll do one take of the full verse and do another take and put emphasis on random parts or the end of the rhymes..

mixtape rappers like Papoose will do 3 or 4 layers of the entire verse rapped and it sounds annoyng as fukk especially when mixed near the same volume.

Nas will double on hooks and shyt like that but for the most part he leaves his voice alone, which is pretty dope considering his voice gives out easily.

Well let's analyze... I think this track is a good example of Tupac using vocal layers

I think Jay-Z might be using multiple vocal layers here

So is doubling vocals even common nowadays? Eminem is definitely doubling his vocals right?

Nas did on the R.Kelly song "Did you ever think"

but other than that, he hardly does which can be annoying as hell and feel "All over the place"

like someone had said earlier, most just double on the emphasis towards the end or certain words. Joe Budden is a master at that cuz when it's used correctly, it can put that extra FEELING in what the verse is talking about. Also adding ad-libs does add to the track as well, 50 is real good at that.

most rappers these days don't double the vocals anymore.

Ross used to do it, like on this song

But he doesnt do it anymore, and IMO it sounds dated for the most part.
