does pacers/nets/suns have any hope of getting better defensively this year?

the scores getting put up in their games are ridiculous, no paint protection, threes galore, bad switching, fast pace.:picard:

even other teams that are trying to tank are more competent on defense(hawks, chicago)

what's going on? is it effort? size issues? multiple guys playing out of position?

youth, inexperience, and honestly this (which is a bigger problem):

when you see teams routinely scoring 110, 120, 125 points on a regular basis, coaches who try to preach defense will be met with indifference. Golden State plays really good defense which is part of why they're so good, but no one notices that. They notice all the threes, all the options and all the points. Since everyone wants to copy Golden State and Houston, players would rather try and do that. Being a Utah /Memphis style team doesn't appeal to young players who wanna get theirs.

Nets best defensive player is either far gone and washed DeMarre Carrol or it might just be the rookie Jarrett Allen

IDK everybody on their roster but im pretty sure thats all they got (or maybe RHJ, I forgot about him)
