He wasnt a particularly good leader tho.
He lost almost all his military engagements with surrounding govts, he had no economic strategy for his people beyond "kick out asians", and was a typical military despot to his people. And Idi Amin topped it all off by commiting genocide against his fellow Ugandans toward the end of his term.
I mean seriously. In the aftermath, it was determined that 300,000 ugandans were massacred because of the guy.
