I remember in high school, we had to go to Mississippi and play this all white team in basketball. We got there and the crowd was animated. White ppl with nooses, racist chants, etc.
Their team was just as racist. It was an inbounds play and this white dude said to me "we gonna beat u like enmity till, boy". He said it loud too, in front of the ref, who looked at me like
The next play, dude went up for a layup and came down funny on his head. My team started laughin, and I let them have it. I told them to forgive the white dude and kneel & pray for him.
After the prayer, I walked over to him and grabbed his hand and told him we are all praying for him.
I grabbed the mic and pleaded with the crowd "See, we are not as bad as you think we are. Please, accept us"
