I was always mature and intelligent even at a young age. My parents are strict and they never tripped with me compared to my brother because I wasn't gonna get in trouble or rather get caught.

Both my parents are really liberal but very very strict when it came to education. as long as I got straight A's, I could do what I wanted.

I think them being overbearing has more to do with them being concerned parents than them being immigrant parents. I hope you don't feel some type of way because you are African.
