Seriously considering getting the family a dog. My dad owned three types of dogs growing up. A German Shepherd, a mean ass Chow Chow with a purple tongue, and big ass but chill Rotty. I’ve only owned German Shepherds myself. Gave my last one to my father-in-law about five years ago and I don’t think he wants to give him back. He’s a “Shop Dog” now.

Criteria for the new dog…

-Good with children (my kids’ requirement)
-Protector and guardian instincts (my requirement)
-Doesn’t shed a lot and looks nice (my wife’s requirement, as a neat freak)

Another German Shepherd would be cool, but they shed a lot and the wife isn’t having it (and I truly don’t blame her because I get tired of cleaning all of the hair around the house too).

I’ve convinced her that a male Giant Schnauzer would be the perfect dog. She fell in love after I showed her some videos and worked my magic.

Giant Schnauzer is number one on our list. Any of you brehs have experience with these beautiful creatures? You recommend any other breeds within my criteria? She was feeling the Belgian Mal too, but I don’t know. My boy has one, but the fur and they’re hyper as fukk. I love Corsos too. Cane Corso is too menacing looking and some kennels refuse to watch them though.

I Slaimon Khan Shah am Afghani!

My favorite dog is an Afghan Hound!

Is this dude for real?
:mjlol:

Get a rotty

He wants a dog for a pet, not as a delicacy.

Go with a Rottie my dude. They're great family dogs.

I’m gonna add this to the list of consideration. My dad had one and my neighbor across the street has one that’s about two years old. I’m not too familiar with them though.

You brehs own Rotties? What do you like about them?

I have one now and had one previously. They LOVE their family and will protect them at all cost. My current one is a little over a year old and loves to play but scares the shyt out of people when he barks. My wife and daughters feel safe when they go walking/running with him.

@ScRhappy Dappy Doo @Peter Popoff @Mastamimd @Smokin Rider

I'm staunchly CatSet but here are some brehs that may have helpful advice.

Also that schnauzer looks like a hung up mink coat :dead:

@TallMan_J As someone who grew up with four miniature schnauzers, I’d say get them.

Not only are they smart as hell, but they’re very protective. They’re small but they act like they’re bigger dogs.

One of the dogs will literally sit outside of my little brother’s room every night if he’s sick. She’ll go into the room if he’s sick and the door is open.

A giant schnauzer might be too much cause, they can be very energetic.

My family has two other dogs and they’re great two, but not as smart and protective as the schnauzers.

The funniest part is that also, every schnauzer I’ve seen seems to instinctually hate CACs and love black people. :dead:
