i'll have to come back to this thread because youre dealing with alot but what i do know right off the bat is

they are three levels if you will:

The first level of development is Giri So which the sister Marimba Ani describes as the word at face value, or simply perception without understanding.
the second level of development is Benne So or the word from the side, which means having sight and developing a perspective.

the third level is bolo so, or the word from behind which means the development of insight.

the final level is so dayi, the clear word, meaning the development of vision.

it pertains to the ducation of the dogon. the aim of african education for the mind could not be separated from education for the body. the body was seen as a divine temple, housing a spirit. as a sheer result, the education of the mind and body was linked to the education for the spirit.

not really sure but don't many of Mali's political elite come from this tribe or am I thinking about some other people? don't have time to watch that whole video...what are those cacs talking about? sounds like they are implying the Dogon had a civilization which was advanced in science/astrology? obviously these people are among the descendants of the Kemites found in West Africa.

The Forest Where Hope Died
There's a book called "the pale fox" written by 2 French anthropoligists back in the days who spent 30 years with the Dogon..they exposed the world to the tribe and the reason why the Dogon have become a tourist attraction in Africa...the Dogon are dope dancers as well..some of the best african dancing I've seen..also they have some of the craziest masks..I guess they make a mask every 60 years (I may be wrong about the years) (something to do with the star, i forgot) and there are like 12 masks,,so that's how far the tribes been around..they say they've been around longer and come from the egyptian civilization because they have similar myths as the Egyptians on how the world was created..just a change in words but the words sound similar..they knew about the lil star that no one can see that orbits Sirius ..they also knew how dense it is..like one gram of that star is like 3000 pounds..that's why when it orbits Sirius it makes it wobble from it's gravity..people say aliens..but it's just that they were skilled in cosmology or astronomy because being and ancient astronomer meant that you lived in caves or somewhere dark ya whole life, slept in the day and only came out at nite so that your iris and pupils would grow so that you could have natural night vision and be able to map the galaxy better...

Tribes all around have levels to become a man and secrets about the universe like the Dogon, it's just that we'll never know cuz they don't let outsiders in...

My step pop had a massive collection of art and statues, i still have several books, but i have since forgotten most of the stuff ive known. Wish my steppops was still around he could probably talk for a day about the tribe, or several others.
