#dogset I need y’all help..just got a puppy for my kids and it’s driving me crazy

Get a cage/crate for the dog to sleep in overnight. Dont worry about him crying over it overnight, he'll get used to it. Even at a young age dogs knows not to shyt where they sleep. Then in the morning before work take the dog out to handle its business. It will quickly learn outside is where its supposed to do that. Just make sure he goes b4 u bring him in, at first it may take a while, be patiant

Also, make sure you get a kitchen garbage can with a lockable lid, and always keep it locked

Also, get doggy treats , but ONLY give him one he obeys you, NEVER give him one for no reason

It probably was a huge mistake not crating him or putting him in a play pen from the jump because he’s been free roaming. We put the play pen up and now he’s crying and whining nonstop will he get used to it?

Depending on how young he is, it may take a trainer to break him.

I suggest walking him around the neighborhood on a daily basis.

I barely remember how I got my puppies potty trained it was so long ago

I think I used to catch them before I saw them about to shyt/piss and put them on the pads. Eventually they got the hint until we started putting them outside or they started asking to go outside.


I just know they will go as far as they can to get away from where they sleep/eat. Sometimes hidden in places.

Only real issue I ever had with one was her chewing up everything… like cables and chair legs
