the platypus has pretty much been endangered the entire time humans have known of its existence. the first instances were poached animals taken by whites new to australia to show the king. then the destruction of its habitat to now, finally, climate change.

it is sort of humorous that the english refused to believe it was a real animal. they thought taxidermists were stitching together random animals to mess with them. its a mammal that lays eggs and is poisonous!
