Everybody should keep a watchful eye on this. This is no joke.
People have to remember that you need rights *after* the crisis - getting a handle on how much power you're bleeding out to the government is always a challenge.

Living in post-9/11 America, so much more power has been straight up given the federal executive and legislative bodies that its hard to tell what remains.

So they want to lock people up and throw away the key? The audacity :wow:

“Not only would it be a violation of [habeas corpus], but it says ‘affecting pre-arrest.’ So that means you could be arrested and never brought before a judge until they decide that the emergency or the civil disobedience is over. I find it absolutely terrifying. Especially in a time of emergency, we should be very careful about granting new powers to the government.”
